According to the scriptures, Lord Ganesha has been described as the incarnation of Lord Shri Krishna and Lord Shri Krishna himself is the incarnation of Lord Vishnu. But the tulsi is very dear to Lord Vishnu, so much so that a form of Shaligram incarnation of Lord Vishnu is married to Tulsa. The same tulsi is unpleasant to Lord Ganesha, its use is so taboo in the worship of God Ganesha of such unpleasant. But why is this a mythological story about it?
Ganesh Tulsi Story:
Once, Ganesha was doing penance on the banks of Ganesha. During this period, Navyuvana Kanya Tulsi of Dharmatmawam left for pilgrimage with the desire of marriage. Goddess Tulsi travels to all the pilgrimages and gets on the banks of the Ganga Goddess Tulsi saw the young Ganesh on the Ganges coast, which was merged with meditation. According to the scriptures, Ganeshaji was dissolved in asceticism and was sitting on a seated throne. There was sandalwood on all their limbs. Many necklaces of gold and gemstones were in their throats with pervasive flowers. He was wrapped in a very soft silk yellow around his waist.
Tulsi became fascinated by the form of Shri Ganesha and in his mind the desire to marry Ganesha awakened. Tulsi dissolved his attention with the desire of marriage Then Lord Shri Ganesh said that it was inauspicious to break the tenacity by Tulsi, and knowing the motive of Tulsi, he considered himself as a Brahmachari and rejected his marriage proposal.
By rejecting his marriage proposal by Shri Ganesh, the goddess Tulsi was very sad and came to the curse and cursed him to be two married to Shri Ganesha. On this, Shri Ganesh also cursed Tulsi that your marriage will to an Asura. Tulsi apologized to Shri Ganesh after hearing the curse of being a monster's wife. Then Shri Ganesh told Tulsi that your marriage will be from the narrow monster. But then you will be giving life and salvation to the world in Kali-Yuga as you are dear to Lord Vishnu and Lord Krishna. But Tulsi plant will not be considered auspicious in my worship.
Since then, Tulsi is considered taboo in the worship of Lord Ganesha.
